Stillwater could hit record high temperature Wednesday before temps fall by weekend

STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater could see a record high temperature Wednesday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a high near 94 degrees. The record high for the day in Stillwater is 90 degrees, set in 1896, according to www.weather.com.

Cooler temperatures are on the way, though, NWS says. Thursday's high is forecast to be in the lower 80s, and the high by Sunday should be in the lower 60s, NWS says.

The cooler weather comes with a greater chance of precipitation. NWS is forecasting a 20 percent chance of rain Friday and Saturday and a 30 percent chance of rain Saturday night and Sunday.
