STILLWATER, Okla. —
Stillwater police cited a man for animal cruelty Sunday after he left a dog in a parked car.
The man, who hasn't been charged with a crime, left a Daschund in a truck left in a parking lot at 2211 N. Perkins Road. The man told police he was shopping inside a store for about 10 minutes, said Capt. Randy Dickerson. The truck's windows were open a crack and the car was partially in the shade. The dog is fine, Dickerson said.
"Our animal cruelty ordinance states that an animal left in a car when the (temperature) is above 79 degrees constitutes a violation," Dickerson said.
