STILLWATER, Okla. —
Stillwater Medical Center Authority has filed a counterclaim for lack of payment against former city commissioner Henry “Hank” Moore Jr., who sued the board when his request for records under Oklahoma’s open records law was turned down.
The counterclaim was filed along with an official “answer” that disputes most parts of the original lawsuit.
Moore’s lawsuit started with an Open Records Request for salary information of the top five senior management officials, minutes from all meetings and committees, financial statements, real estate transactions and other records. Moore filed the lawsuit in late August.
Stillwater Medical Center President and CEO Jerry Moeller said the hospital has provided 12,153 pages of documents for Moore that includes all information except salaries. Under the Oklahoma Open Records Act that allows up to a 25-cent charge per page in copying costs, the fee for the requested documents is $3,038.25.
Moeller said that Moore has yet to pick up the documents, and the hospital board filed a counterclaim for the $3,028.25 it said it hasn’t yet received.
Moore’s lawsuit asked for the pay of the top five senior management officials, but hospital officials don’t want the information released. Moeller did release his own compensation after Moore sued. Moeller said his salary is $276,261 with a bonus last year of $11,050. Moeller additionally receives a car allowance of $7,200 and the use of a Karsten Creek membership valued at $7,600. His total compensation for last year comes to $302,111.
