STILLWATER, Okla. —
A 53-year-old Oklahoma State University employee committed suicide Wednesday in a restroom in Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater police said.
Captain Randy Dickerson said the man walked into the emergency room, went to a public restroom and shot himself in the chest at 12:30 p.m.
Shyla Eggers, public relations coordinator for the hospital, said hospital staff pressed a panic button and the emergency room went into lockdown after the suicide.
Brittney Rochell, of OSU’s communications office, confirmed the man was an employee of the school and worked at the botanic garden.
