Two from Stillwater injured in accident Saturday night

STILLWATER, Okla. — A three-car accident Saturday left a man critically injured and another treated at a nearby hospital, both are from Stillwater.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, the collision occurred a little after 7 p.m.  Saturday.

Driver Carol Boese, 72, of Stillwater slowed down and attempted to make a lef turn onto Ripley Road from State Highway 51. She was traveling eastbound when a pickup behind her driven by a juvenile, 17, passed her on the left.

The juvenile's pickup hit 57-year-old Kelly Miller, also in a pickup, head on in the westbound lane of State Highway 51. Miller was flown to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition with injuries to his head, arms, legs and torso.

Boese was not injured in the accident.

The juvenile driver was treated and released at a nearby hospital.

Troopers stated the cause of the accident was improper passing, according to the report.

The Payne County Sheriff's Office, Stillwater Fire Department, LifeNet and Mediflight assisted.
