Oklahoma State University alum will be featured on "The Voice"

STILLWATER, Okla. — A former Oklahoma State University student will be featured nationwide on the popular singing competition “The Voice” on NBC.

Adley Stump will be featured on the show on either the Feb. 20 or Feb. 27 episode, according to her business manager Rick Teague.

Stump has already recorded her performance, and it is unknown whether she was chosen by one of the four celebrity judges Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green.

Teague said Stump is under strict orders from NBC to keep quiet to press until after the show airs.

According to her website, Stump “was busy getting her degree in public relations at Oklahoma State University when friends dared her to try out for a singing part in a sorority production.”

She took the dare and found she enjoyed what she called the vulnerability and fire of the first time she sang.

After finding auditions in Nashville, Tenn., where she lives, for the NBC show, she began to climb the ranks and found herself in front of the celebrity panel Carrie Underwood’s hit song “Last Name.” Viewers can tune into NBC either Feb. 20 or 27 at 8 p.m. to watch Stump and see how she fares.
