Two-vehicle accident seriously injures 81-year-old Coyle woman

STILLWATER, Okla. — Ruth Biby, 81, of Coyle is in serious condition at University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City after the car she was in which she was a passenger was struck by an unidentified vehicle at approximately 10 a.m. Monday.

According a collision report, Linda Waltman, 57, of Coyle was driving and Biby was a passenger in a car on State Highway 33 near Country Club Road when another car attempted to pass them in oncoming traffic. The unidentified car changed lanes to avoid oncoming traffic, striking the two women's vehicle.

The second car left the scene.

Waltman's car left the roadway and rolled once. Waltman was transported to Stillwater Medical Center and was treated and released with head and trunk internal injuries, according to the report.

Biby was transported to Stillwater Medical Center with head and neck injuries. She has been transferred to the Oklahoma City hospital and is in serious condition, according to the report.

Investigating troopers attributed the crash to the undentified car making an unsafe lane change.
