STILLWATER, Okla. — The Western Payne County Ambulance Trust Authority will replace its treasurer soon.

Bill Sasser has been the group’s treasurer. He resigned effective June 30. Trust  chairman Jerry Moeller said Sasser would be missed because Sasser handled the financial matters well.

“He did a great job,” Moeller said. “He was responsible of the disbursement of funds to LifeNet and we really hate to see him go.”

Sasser expressed his gratitude toward the board at the June 19 meeting.

Moeller said the process of appointing a new trustee would start with the Payne County Commissioners. Even though the authority will have the final say in that matter, County Commissioner Chairman Chris Reding will have to nominate a candidate to replace Sasser.

Reding said he will recommend someone but he doesn’t have the final say in the matter.

“I’m supposed to find a replacement for Bill and bring the replacement to the authority (Western Payne County Ambulance Trust Authority),” Reding said. “And then they will vote on that during their meeting.”
