STILLWATER, Okla. — Fire crews were continuing their efforts Monday evening to control a wildfire east of the Dripping Springs addition, Cushing police said. Norfolk Road was closed between Grandstaff Road and Deep Rock Road.
A shelter was open at the Cushing Senior Citizens Center on Cherry Street for anyone needing shelter or a break from smoke.

Spokeswoman Calley Herth told The Associated Press that the early tally is based on visual assessments of the extensive damage zone stretching more than 17 miles and the fact that the tornado was on the ground for 40 minutes.
