STILLWATER, Okla. —
A former Oklahoma State University running back will waive his preliminary hearing and enter a plea later this month, according to Payne County court records.
Herschel Sims, 20, is accused of defrauding another football player of $700 and faces two second-degree forgery charges.
Sims’ attorney Rebecca Kings appeared in court Tuesday and asked the court to place the matter on the felony docket. She indicated the defendant intends to waive a preliminary hearing and enter his plea.
Special District Judge Katherine Thomas rescheduled Sims’ court appearance from Oct. 10 to Oct. 26.
Sims is accused of taking two bank withdrawal slips with teammate Jeremiah Tshimanga’s account number and forged signature to a Stillwater bank on April 27, according to information filed in Payne County District Court.
One slip was made out for a $500 withdrawal and the other requested a $200 withdrawal, prosecutors contend.
