Payne County commissioners approve wreath or tree for Payne County Courthouse

STILLWATER, Okla. — Payne County commissioners gave permission to the Iowa Tribe to place a wreath or tree at the county courthouse until the end of December.

The wreath or tree will promote awareness of domestic abuse, stalking and sexual assault. Information cards from the Iowa Tribe on finding help for abuse will be included in the display, said County Commissioner Gloria Hesser.

Emergency Management Director Jeff Kuhn said there will be no burn ban, despite drought conditions.

He said few fires have been caused by controlled burns.
