OKLAHOMA CITY —
Oklahoma City police have arrested a 43-year-old Cushing man during a four-day undercover sting at Lake Hefner’s Hobie Point.
Earnest Gene Hall is one of 34 people arrested for lewd acts and other acts during the sting. Hall faces charges of engaging in an act of lewdness in public. He was arrested on Monday in northwest Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City Police Department Assistant Public Information Officer Sgt. Gary Knight said.
According to the Oklahoma City Police Department’s crime report, Hall told an undercover officer he was a Stillwater High School basketball coach visiting family in Oklahoma City as the two made small talk on a path in a wooded area at Hobie Point. Hall told the officer he sometimes stops at Hobie Point on his way back to Stillwater.
The officer states in the report that Hall started rubbing the officer’s shoulders, arms and chest before using his right hand to touch the officer’s crotch.
The officer pulled out his badge and arrested Hall. He was transported to the Lake Hefner Police Station and booked into Oklahoma County Jail.
Stillwater Public School spokeswoman Kellee Brown said the school system doesn’t employ an Earnest Gene Hall. He is not affiliated with the school or its basketball programs.
The latest undercover operation began June 27 after a man and his two children saw two men having sex at Hobie Point, Knight said. Undercover officers concluded the sting Tuesday.
Police have targeted Hobie Point in the past for undercover operations involving lewd acts.
