UPDATE: Red Cross opens evacuation centers for Drumright, Morrison, Glencoe wildfire victims

STILLWATER, Okla. — The American Red Cross is opening evacuation centers in Cushing and Pawnee for victims of Saturday's wildfires near Drumright and Glencoe and Morrison.

The Cushing evacuation center is the Cushing Senior Center, 203. E. Cherry, American Red Cross Regional Director of Communications Ken Garcia said.

The Glencoe-Morrison evacuation center is at First United Methodist Church, 800 Sixth Street, Pawnee.

"At this point in the disaster response, the Red Cross is engaged in providing immediate needs of shelter, food and drink for residents impacted by the fires," Garcia said.

The Red Cross will begin coordinating with partner agencies to help residents affected by the wildfires with their longer term needs, Teams will be in the evacuations centers to collect information from residents that will be need in the recovery process.

Red Cross teams also are in the field providing hydrating beverages, snacks and meals for firefighters. The Red Cross teams are staged at the incident command centers.
