STILLWATER, Okla. — President Barack Obama has nominated Navy Rear Admiral Sean A. Pybus for a promotion to vice admiral and wants him to command the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Special Operations Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced Pybus' nomination Wednesday.

Pybus, who graduated from high school in Stillwater, serves as commander of Naval Special Warfare Command in San Diego, Calif.
