Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation launches inquiry into incident east of Perkins

STILLWATER, Okla. — State Highway 33 east of Perkins was closed for nearly four hours late Tuesday following a pursuit by the Payne County Sheriff's Department.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a vehicle crashed east of Perkins between Rose and Mehan roads about 10 p.m. Tuesday. One person was taken by helicopter to a hospital.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the pursuit and crash, Public Information Officer Jessica Brown said. The incident is still under investigation.

Brown said information will be released when the initial investigation is complete.
