STILLWATER, Okla. —
One resident found out the hard way: Don’t cry wolf to 911.
According to police records, John Arthur Williams, 52, of Stillwater called police to his home to investigate a robbery at approximately 5:20 p.m. Saturday.
Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said officers found Williams extremely intoxicated with a minor head injury. He told officers that he had been robbed of $17 in his home on Lewis Street.
Dickerson said Williams’ story wasn’t adding up and he confessed to making it up to explain falling down and injuring his head.
He was arrested for misuse of 911 and issued a ticket.
