Edmond woman killed Sunday in traffic accident near Lake Carl Blackwell

STILLWATER, Okla. — A 29-year-old Edmond woman died early Sunday morning in a one-car traffic accident on State Highway 51 near Lake Carl Blakwell.

Christina Lynn Hill was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:30 a.m. accident, according to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Anthony Harper.

According to Harper’s report, Hill was driving east on the state highway at a high rate of speed. She lost control of her car in a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Hill was pinned in the vehicle for approximately an hour before being extricated by the Stillwater Fire Department, according to the report.

According to the report, the cause of the accident was unsafe speed for a curve. The four-lane divided highway was clear and the weather was cloudy. Hill was wearing a seat belt and the car’s airbag deployed.
