Will Rogers Elementary schedules dinner, auction to raise money to buy technology

STILLWATER, Okla. — With the construction of the new Will Rogers Elementary moving forward every day, school officials are looking toward the classrooms and teachers’ needs.

Will Rogers Elementary will hold a spaghetti dinner and silent auction at the school gymnasium from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Representative Kimberly Everett said there will be plenty of fun and good food.

“We’re going to have entertainment which is ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th-Grader,’” Everett said. “We’re going to have special guests for that.”

Among those special guests will be Superintendent Ann Caine.

The event will feature a dinner including spaghetti, salad, breadsticks, dessert and tea. The price of the meal is $20 for a family of four and $5 for each additional adult and $3 for each additional child. Each adult attending by themselves can pay $10 for the meal.

Visitors who wish to skip dinner but bid in the silent auction may also attend.

“We’re trying to raise money to purchase Smart Boards and new technology for the new building,” Everett said.

Everett said they are hoping for a turnout of 500 people or more.

“We’re hoping for a large turnout,” she said. “We are frantically selling tickets.”

Those who wish to donate may do so the night of event or to Will Rogers Elementary. For those wishing to purchase tickets to the dinner, you may call Kimberly Everett a 580-591-0538.
