STILLWATER, Okla. —
A second teenager has been charged in the armed robbery of a Perkins woman.
The two teens are accused of following the woman from a parking lot in Stillwater to her home in Perkins where they robbed her at gunpoint. According to court records her purse — containing a cellphone, identification and some money — was taken. All the items were recovered.
The weapon later turned out to be an imitation .45 caliber pistol.
Gaige Michael Petty, 18, of Perkins faces a charge of robbery with an imitation firearm which has a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum life sentence.
Petty is alleged to have committed the crime with Daniel Alejuandro Hernandez, 18, of Stillwater who has also been charged with robbery with an imitation firearm. He is being held in the Payne County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Police were able to find the suspects after a Payne County deputy heard the vehicle and suspect description from dispatch and realized he had made a traffic stopped that seemed to match. Police were then able to use the information gathered during the stop and contact the two suspects.
