STILLWATER, Okla. —
A pregnant woman injured in a car wreck Monday afternoon has given birth and she and her baby are doing fine, hospital officials said.
According to Stillwater Medical Center Public Relations Coordinator Shyla Eggers, 21-year-old Stillwater resident Katherine Sears gave birth as scheduled. She and her baby are doing fine.
Police said the wreck occurred when a dark-colored SUV occupied by Sears and a man was stopped at Seventh Avenue waiting to turn south on Perkins Road.
An unknown driver in the nearest lane to their vehicle stopped short of Seventh Avenue to allow the SUV to make the turn. A silver SUV heading north in the adjacent lane struck the dark-colored SUV, causing it to flip on its side.
An accident report by Stillwater police shows that Sears sustained possible trunk internal injuries and was transported to the hospital.
