Reality TV stars performing at OSU

Allied Arts presents Street Corner Symphony

STILLWATER, Okla. — Southern-bred a cappella group Street Corner Symphony will perform at the Oklahoma State University Seretean Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall at 8 p.m. Friday.

Allied Arts and Special Events Coordinator Brandon Mitts said tickets are still available online through, by calling 405-744-7509 or dropping by the OSU Student Union Room 058. Tickets will also be available at the door.

A free discussion with a question and answer session will be presented by vocalist Richie Lister from 7-7:30 p.m. in Seretean Center Room 123.

Street Corner Symphony was established in May 2010, in Nashville, Tenn. The group’s vocalists are Adam Chance, John Martin, Mark McLemore and brothers Jeremy, Jonathan and Richie Lister. They competed on NBC’s reality TV competition, “The Sing-Off,” in 2010, placing second among the program’s group of vocalists.

“Many fans have been following them so this show is a chance to see them in person,” Mitts said. “All age groups will find something in their concert because they cross all genres. Street Corner Symphony is a high quality a capella group and very energetic.”

Mitts saw the group perform live at the Arts Midwest Conference last year.

“People should know that they won’t ever get bored during this performance,” he said.

In addition to their own tracks, the vocalists cover songs such as “Hard to Handle,” by the Black Crowes and “Hey Soul Sister,” by Train.

“You’ll hear a broad spectrum from Creedence Clearwater Revival to contemporary selections,” Mitts said.

Since their success on “The Sing-Off,” Street Corner Symphony has made their mark on the music world performing across the country and around the world. After winning over Sing-Off Judges Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, and Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls, they have worked with Folds, Alison Krauss and Take 6’s Claude McKnight. Street Corner Symphony’s new album, “Southern Autumn Nostalgia,” is now available.
