VIDEO: Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis says the digital age will 'flip the classroom'

STILLWATER, Okla. — The digital age will flip the classroom, Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis said.

Students will receive lectures on laptops, tablets or smartphones. In class, students will discuss the lectures and learn to put the lecture’s concepts into practice. “I think that’s going to improve education dramatically. I think the faculty will enjoy that as well. I think that opportunity for real-time interactions with their students and not just talk at them. They are actually interacting with them.”

The NewsPress’ “Conversations with” public affairs team went to the OSU president’s office to discuss the future of higher education and Oklahoma State University with Hargis. In addition to technology, Hargis discussed a campus growth, the Branding Success campaign and the relationship between Oklahoma State University and Stillwater.
