Payne County commissioners open equipment bids.

STILLWATER, Okla. — Payne County commissioners will take at least a week to evaluate equipment bids opened at Monday's meeting..

Commissioners opened bids for District 1 and District 3 equipment purchases. District 1 wants  to purchase five or more motor graders and District 3 may purchase a new excavator, or track hoe.

Payne County received six bids, including three companies declining to bid, for the motor graders.

The three bidders were: Yellowhouse Machinery Co.,  Tulsa, Van Keppel, Oklahoma City, and Warren Cat, Midland, Texas.

Yellowhouse Machinery Co. bid ranged from $70,309 to $80,309. It didn't bid to purchase five used motor graders from the county.

Van Keppel's bid ranged from $36,643 to $63,603. It didn't bid to purchase the motor graders.

Warren Cat's bids ranged from $68,000 to $89,000. It also didn't bid to buy the used motor graders.

The county received four bids for an excavator for District 3.

Van Keppel submitted a bid on a Volvo 220C for $170,090.

Yellowhouse submitted a bid for  John Deer 210 GLC 2013 model for $167,912.

Warren Cat submitted a bid for a Caterpillar 320 EL 2013 model for $188, 621.

Kirby Smith submitted a bid for a Kumatsu PC 2010 Lc-10 2013 model for $183,197

After opening the bids, District 1 County Commissioner, Zach Cavett and District 3 County Commissioner, Jim Arthur,said they would evaluate the bids throughout the week and hoped to make a decision at the Aug. 29 commissioner's meeting.
