Hospital foundation accepting bids for lake property in state

STILLWATER, Okla. — Two top bidders will leave the Stillwater Medical Center Foundation’s Starlight Gatsby Gala as property owners. Both lots are located at Lake Eufaula. One of the lots is located on a bluff with a vista of the lake.

The foundation acquired the property through a donation by Mary Frye. Mary and her late husband, Moses, purchased the land but loved Stillwater too much to make use of it following their retirement.

The lots are not adjacent and will be offered separately during the live auction portion of the gala. The first lot does not have a view of the water, but is minutes away from the lake.

“This is the first gift of real estate that has been received by the SMC Foundation,” said Teresa Hopkins, executive director. “The income that it brings will go toward the construction of the warm water pool on 12th Street.”

SMC Foundation’s capital campaign project to raise $1.5 million for a new pool facility will benefit patients and community members of all ages.

Tickets for the gala fundraiser are still available. Proxy bids are also being accepted and will be honored during the event. Interested parties can find photos and legal descriptions of the lots at Additional information can be obtained regarding the property by calling 405-742-5387.

The mission of the Stillwater Medical Center Foundation is to support the Stillwater Medical Center. The foundation, as SMC’s primary fundraising agency, solicits, receives, manages and disburses private gifts for the benefit of Stillwater Medical Center.
