STILLWATER, Okla. —
A Stillwater woman is accused of using her powers as legal guardian of a physically and mentally incapable man to steal $450,000.
Dana Kathleen Frank, 55, is charged with financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult by a caretaker.
According to court records, Frank was the court-appointed guardian for the victim, who is physically and mentally incapable of managing his own financial affairs. Frank used her powers as guardian to write checks totaling $454,813 from the victim’s account for her own use, prosecutors allege.
Frank is free on a $25,000 bond and has entered a plea of not guilty. If convicted she could face a 10-year prison sentence, a $10,000 fine or both.
She is due in court April 4 for a preliminary hearing.
