STILLWATER, Okla. — Payne County voters can cast their votes in school and county elections Friday and Monday at the Payne County Election Board.
In-person absentee voting is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Monday in the Election Board office at the Payne County Administration Building, 315 W. Sixth Ave.
Valerie Bryant, chief clerk at the board, said there had been a "pretty steady" stream of voters Friday, but she did not know how many votes had been cast by mid-afternoon.
Voters in Coyle, Drumright and Morrison are deciding a school board seat, and Payne County voters are deciding whether or not to extend the 3/8 percent sales tax. County Democrats can also vote on a commission seat. Bobby Farley and Noel Bagwell are running for the District No. 1 seat, left empty after the death in 2011 of Commissioner Bill Deering.
