STILLWATER, Okla. —
A Stillwater man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl went before a judge Friday at the Payne County Courthouse.
Daniel Joseph Walker, 19, is charged with first-degree rape, according to court records.
Special District Judge Katherine Thomas told Walker to get a job and work to find money to hire a lawyer before his next court date or his bail will be revoked.
This is Walker’s second time to appear in court in August for arraignment. In April, Walker posted $7,500 bail.
At 7:42 p.m. April 4, Stillwater Police Officer Stephen Hall responded to the 1200 block of Alcott Street where the victim’s father was following Walker, according to an affidavit. Walker sat down beside the patrol car and told police he was being accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl, who is now 14.
According to the affidavit, the officer advised Walker of his rights. Walker told Hall that he had sex with the girl and knew he should not have.
In late April, Walker pleaded innocent to the charges. His next court date is at 1:45 p.m. Aug. 29.
