BREAKING: Payne County man found with gunshot to the head

STILLWATER, Okla. — A man has been transported to Cushing hospital after authorities found him with a gunshot wound to the head Friday morning.

Payne County Sheriff's Department Capt. Kevin Woodward  officers heard the shot after approaching a residence on East 44th Road and State Highway 18. They had been informed a man with a gun was inside threatening suicide.

Woodward said there may have been a hostage situation Thursday night involving the man and his girlfriend who he said was able to get away.
