STILLWATER, Okla. — Payne County commissioners will discuss the sale of a parcel of county-owned land in the Cushing area at their 9 a.m. Monday meeting at the Payne County Administration Building, 315 W. Sixth Ave.

The parcel was one of 21 advertised for sale in the Feb. 20 Commissioners Auction. It was seized for failure to pay taxes. The parcel wasn’t purchased during the auction, but an individual has submitted a bid to Treasurer Bonita Stadler.

Commissioners will also open and possibly evaluate bids on a dump trailer for Payne County District 1.

The Stillwater City Council will hold four public hearings at its 5:30 p.m. Monday meeting at the Stillwater Municipal Building, 723 S. Lewis.

Three public hearings involve zoning map changes for property at 324 W. Miller, 421 N. Husband and 1000 E. Virginia. The other public hearing concerns a proposed text amendment to the city’s Land Use Code.

Councilors will consider three ordinances on first reading. They are:

• Ordinance No. 3224, which closes a portion of an alley abutting properties in the 1400 block of West Fourth Ave., the 400 block of South Gray Street and 400 block of South Stanley Street.

• Ordinance No. 3225, which amends Stillwater’s anti-littering ordinance concerning the placement of handbills in public places and on vehicles.

• Ordinance No. 3226, which continues a 5 percent fee on business and residential telephone lines to fund the city’s enhanced 911 telephone system.

Ordinance No. 3223 will be considered on second reading. It closes 20 feet of right-of-way on West Street adjacent to 424 W. Ninth Ave.

The Stillwater Utility Authority meeting Monday in the Stillwater Municipal Building, 723 S. Lewis, has been canceled. The next meeting is March 18.
