Sleepy driver injured after hitting tree

STILLWATER, Okla. — A Texas woman was transported by medical helicopter to OU Medical Center after the car she was driving struck a tree. Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the woman apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

Highway patrol records show she was admitted in stable condition with head, arm and leg injuries.

Hayley Chow, 18, of Plano, Texas was traveling south about six miles from Stillwater when her sport utility vehicle drifted off the roadway before striking a tree 1:00 p.m. Thursday , a highway patrol report said.
