Hearing set for Dec. 7 in family-shooting incident

STILLWATER, Okla. — A man accused of shooting his nephew and nephew’s fiance with snake-shot rounds was given a pre-trial hearing date for December.

David Gene Ross, 62, of Stillwater appeared in Payne County District Court Friday morning where Judge Stephen Kistler scheduled his pre-trial date for Dec. 7.

Ross is accused of injuring Dustin Ross and Christina Alexander with a .38-caliber revolver in June. He is charged with two counts assault with a deadly weapon.

If convicted, Ross could be sentenced to life in prison.

 The bullets were filled with tiny lead shot and are used for killing rodents, snakes and birds at close range. The nephew was wounded in the arm and head and Alexander was wounded in the face.
