National recording artist playing in downtown Stillwater

ABOUT THE ARTIST

NAME: Larry Newsom

FROM: Ponca City area

PERFORMS: Since 1991, he has toured across the country singing original songs and classic rock favorites in all styles with acoustic guitar. He had a confrontation with Jesus Christ that resulted in his crossover into Christian music and a national recording contract.

FAVORITE SONGS TO PLAY: With over 200 cover songs to draw from that span many different genres, Newsom is at home in front of any audience. He enjoys playing music by the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty and his own original songs

ARTIST QUOTE: “I love to perform everywhere  — and write and record music. I’ve been doing music professionally for more than 20 years and it has only gotten better over that time! In 2009, I released my debut album “Change the World,” and my second national album release will be this spring 2014. Newsom enjoys performing acoustic shows in restaurants, coffee houses and clubs including events and conferences. He leads worship at many Christian services.
