Stillwater man charged with assault, battery

STILLWATER, Okla. — A Stillwater man is charged with domestic assault and battery after being accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend by strangulation.

Myron Ian Dent, 19, was arrested and is being held on $50,000 bail.

According to the affidavit, Dent began an argument with his pregnant girlfriend Thursday for sleeping in the recliner. The victim said Dent slapped her three times on the right side of her face. She said she went outside to cool down and sat in the driver’s side of a truck. Dent followed her outside and squeezed her neck before pulling her out of the truck, the victim said. According to the affidavit, the victim kicked Dent in the stomach with her bare foot then he held her against the truck and punched the back of her head.

The victim stated she went inside the residence and into a bedroom. She said Dent followed her inside and threw a plastic bottle at the back of her head. The victim said she left the house and began walking to her grandmother’s home. She said Dent began chasing her. The victim’s grandmother called the police and told Dent to leave.

The affidavit describes red marks on the victim’s face and neck.
