Cushing police shoot 18-year-old man Thursday night

CUSHING, Okla. — Cushing police officers shot a an 18-year old man wielding a gun during a disturbance Thursday night.

Police officers shot Rabih Ozeir mulitple times at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Simpsons Chiropractic, 1523 E. Main. Ozier was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in Cushing. He was transferred to Saint John’s Trauma Center in Tulsa for further treatment.

Officers responded to a disturbance at the office, according to a police report. Ozeir pointed a handgun and threatened the officers. The officers asked Ozeir to drop his weapon. When he refused, officers shot Ozeir multiple times.

The officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, pending outcome of an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the shooting. The officers’ names are not being released because of the investigation, according to the report.
