12:35 p.m. UPDATE: Perkins Road closed, businesses, residents evacuated after tanker accident

STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater emergency crews are pumping as much fuel out of an overturned tanker as possible, Stillwater police say. A crane for Chandler arrived at the accident scene at 12:30 p.m. It will be used to right the tanker.

Police have closed Perkins Road between McElroy Road and Redbud Drive following a Sunday morning accident. Nearby businesses and residents have been evacuated.

A NewsPress reporter on scene says their is a strong smell of fuel in the area.

Crews have been working since 7 a.m.
