Stabbing victim remains in critical condition at medical center

STILLWATER, Okla. — The victim of a violent stabbing in Stillwater on July 5 is still in critical condition at OU Medical Center.

The victim, Steven Wayne Kent, was involved in a pickup chase with two other Stillwater residents, Jordan Patrick Robinson, 18, and Alexander D. Hutson, according to a Payne County Sheriff’s Department affidavit.

The brawl began when Kent, Christopher Blunell and Michael Hardin left Robinson’s apartment with an unknown amount of marijuana for which they did not pay and ended when Robinson and Hutson caught up to them, pulling them out of the car, according to the affidavit.

Robinson is accused of stabbing Kent eight times and Blunell three times, according to court documents. As of Tuesday, no charges have been filed in the Payne County District Court against Hutson.

Robinson was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery with means likely to produce death. Bond was set at $500,000, with a preliminary hearing Aug. 5. He faces a life sentence for both counts if convicted.
