Stillwater Board of Education to consider partnership agreement

STILLWATER, Okla. — The youngest students in the Stillwater Public Schools system could be getting a new classroom.

The Stillwater Board of Education will vote on a partnership agreement with Golden Oaks Village on a new prekindergarten classroom at the retirement facility in Stillwater. The facility is located at 5505 W. 19th Ave.

Kellee Brown, public information officer for the district, said the new classroom would free up classroom space at the district’s existing schools. She said the agreement would possibly allow the district to add another prekindergarten class or move a class out of a portable and into a school site.

The school board will take action on the measure during its 6:30 p.m. meeting Tuesday at the Administration Building, 314 S. Lewis St.

The board will meet in a special session at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the annual evaluation of Superintendent Ann Caine.

The board also is expected to:

• receive an audit report by Phillip Storm, district financial officer, for the 2012-13 school year

• receive a construction update on work being done in the district

• receive an academic update from Stillwater High School and Lincoln Academy

• hear a first reading of the district’s policy on administrative personnel evaluations

• hear a second reading and consider approval of the district’s teacher performance evaluation procedures.
