BREAKING NEWS: Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation lead agency in homicide near Cushing

CUSHING, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed it is investigating a slaying in Payne County. Jessica Brown,  OSBI spokeswoman, said investigators are following up on leads and are waiting to release more information.

Police records show Payne County deputies responded to a death at 6:39 a.m. Friday at Harmony Road and Phillips Road near Cushing. Payne County Sheriff R.B. Hauf confirmed OSBI is investigating the death.

Brown said more details would likely be available Friday evening.
