Retired astronaut, regent to speak at Oklahoma State's commencement on May 3-4

STILLWATER, Okla. — A retired astronaut and the chairman of the Board of Regents will address Oklahoma State University graduates during commencement ceremonies May 3-4 at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Ret. Gen. Thomas Stafford, a veteran of several NASA space missions, and Andy Lester, an Edmond attorney, author, orator and Regents chairman, will deliver the remarks to the students.

Masters and doctoral graduates will have a graduate college hooding ceremony at 7 p.m. May 3 at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

There will be three undergraduate commencements on May 4 at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The first undergraduate commencement will begin at 9:30 a.m. for graduates in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the Spears School of Business.

The second undergraduate commencement, for graduates in the College of Human Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences, will be at 1 p.m.

The third undergraduate commencement will begin at 4:30 p.m. for graduates in the College of Education and the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology.

The city of Tulsa Pipes and Drums will lead the May 4 processionals into Gallagher-Iba Arena. Graduates will be seated by college.

Guest seating is available in the upper levels of Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Memorial Lobby at the south end of the arena will be closed prior to the ceremony so that staging for the processional can take place.
