STILLWATER, Okla. — Emergency crew have started setting up pumps to remove fuel from an overturned tanker on Perkins Road between McElroy Road and Redbud Drive. A second crane is on its way to help right the tanker. The first one arrived from Chandler at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Emergency crews are reporting equipment near the tanker will need to be grounded to prevent a spark.
Stillwater emergency crews will pump as much fuel out of an overturned tanker as possible, Stillwater police say.
Police closed Perkins Road between McElroy Road and Redbud Drive following a Sunday morning accident. Nearby businesses and residents have been evacuated.
A NewsPress reporter on scene says their is a strong smell of fuel in the area.
