STILLWATER, Okla. — The American Red Cross invites Stillwater residents to show their support by attending the second-annual Michael and Amy Dueling Pianos Show at 6 p.m. March 7 at the Wes Watkins Center.

Executive Director of the North Central Oklahoma Chapter Mary Ann White said the performers will be doing a new show this year.

“Last year, for our first-year event, it was a great success and everyone really loved having Michael and Amy come to Stillwater,” White said.

The event raised more than $25,000 last year. There are hopes that number will go higher this year, she said.

In addition to the performance, there will be a silent and live auction, with items including club level tickets to the Oklahoma State University 2013 football season opener in Houston with provided airfare and four suite tickets to the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs game in Oklahoma City.

“We’ve got some really great, exciting auction items,” White said.

Lyndall Stout, news anchor for SUNUP, a weekly television production by the OSU Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, will be the emcee for the event.

“This is our main fundraiser,” White said. “What this does is help pay for our response we do every day.”

According to a Red Cross press release, last fiscal year the North Central Oklahoma chapter “provided emergency family assistance to nearly 94 families across Payne and Noble counties and taught preparedness and health and safety services to 3,793 people how to perform CPR, first aid and other life-saving skills.”

White said there are still plenty of sponsorship tables available. The tables seat eight and are $500. Individual tickets are $50 a person and must be purchased prior to the event. Companies who cannot attend may sponsor a table for first responders. For more information, call 372-1833. To purchase tickets, visit
