Government Watch: Payne County commissioners open trailer bids

STILLWATER, Okla. — Payne County commissioners received three bids for a belly dump trailer for the District 1 road district.

Commissioners received three bids:

• Southwest Trailers and Equipment, Oklahoma City, submitted a bid of $27,100 with a delivery time of three to four weeks.

• Irwin Trailer, Meeker, submitted a bid of $28,995 with a retractable tarp.

• Bruckners, Oklahoma City, submitted a bid of $28,017. The bid didn’t met county specifications because the trailers was constructed of 14 gauge steel instead of 10 gauge.

Commissioner Zach Cavett wanted a week to evaluate the bids before awarding the contract.

Commissioners voted to start the process to sell a parcel of county property in Odom’s addition in Cushing. The property was seized for back taxes. It had been placed in a county auction twice, but didn’t sell, Treasurer Bonita Stadler said. A person is seeking to buy the property, and has placed a bid of $500. The next step is to advertise the auction of this property for three weeks and then hold the public auction, Stadler said.

County commissioners approved 10 pipeline crossings of county roads.

“I love the high energy stuff,” he said. “Even though it’s country, being able to rock it up, distorted guitars and just seeing the crowd, feeding off of that.”
