City denies $1 million claim by mother of girl allegedly raped by SPD officer
The mother of the 15-year-old girl believed to have been raped and molested by former Stillwater Police officer Louis Morris has filed a $1 million damage claim against the city of Stillwater. Stillwater City Council denied the claim Monday night, but the claim could signal a possible law suit against the city.

Stillwater's bond rating upgraded
Standard & Poor's has upgraded the city of Stillwater's bond rating, a credit score for city debt, from an "A+" to "AA-." The distinction puts the city into an elite status of stable cities, according to financial officials, and will likely have a favorable affect on any future debt issued by he city.

RVs permitted inside city, but only for one year
Stillwater City Council altered a pending ordinance Monday that would have permanently allowed RVs inside the city limits at mobile home parks. The new ordinance will still remove RV restrictions, but only for one year in order to take advantage of transient labor expected hit town next month for the construction of a massive oil pipeline to Cushing.
