Commission looks to approve sale of property in Cushing

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Payne County Commissioners had a short Thanksgiving week, and will have a short meeting Monday.

There is one item on the agenda that is not on typical agendas. The county will be looking to approve the sale of county property.

When the county sells property, it must go to public auction. The county lists the property in the newspaper, and the property goes to the highest bidder.

In this case, there was leftover property from another sale, which generated the sale of this property.

The property has sold and the commission will be approving the sale of the property on Maple Road in Cushing, according to the Payne County Treasurer’s office.

The county will also look to approve its usual meeting items, which includes approval of minutes, traffic control signs, equipment removal from inventory, cash appropriations, transfer of appropriations, purchase orders and monthly reports from officers.

The county will also discuss and take possible action on telephone and utility permits, which is discussed at almost every county commission meeting.

The Payne County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the County Administration building, 315 W. 6th Ave., room 200.
