9:15 a.m. UPDATE: Crisis intervention teams in place as Stillwater Junior High Students go back to school

STILLWATER, Okla. — A special crisis intervention team was in place Thursday as Stillwater Junior High School  students returned to classes a day after a classmate died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Some students wore green shirts which was Cade Puolos' favorite color. Puolos, 13, an eighth-grader, died at approximately 7:50 a.m. Wednesday at the junior high school

In an email to parents, Stillwater public schools Superintendent Ann Caine said students might experience strong feelings because of the incident.

"He or she may have difficulty sleeping and/or experience nightmares or may temporarily regress in his or her behavior or academically," she wrote.

Stillwater Junior High School staff are setting aside time Thursday to help students understand what happened and their feelings about the incident,

"This is a very difficult time for all of us. We want to be sensitive to the needs of your son or daughter," Caine wrote.
