Government Watch: Councilors to consider bids on tennis court repairs

STILLWATER, Okla. — Stillwater City Councilors will be asked to consider bids to resurface tennis courts at Sunset Park and reject bids for tennis court resurfacing at Couch Park at Monday’s City Council meeting.

The City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 723 S. Lewis Ave. The Couch Park tennis court projects received two incomplete bids and two that didn’t meet specifications, Parks and Recreations Operations Manager Jim Scott said in a staff memo to councilors. He recommends all the bids be rejected, while the staff evaluates alternatives and a possible re-bid of the project. Frazier Davis was one of four bidders for the Sunset Park project. Only three bids met specifications. In Scott’s memo, he recommends councilors accept Frazier Davis’ $36,780 bid. The Stillwater Utilities Authority and Stillwater Economic Development Authority also will meet Monday night as part of the City Council meeting.
