Oklahoma State University attorneys say school not liable for death

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State University's attorneys responded to a lawsuit that claimed poor construction ay Boone Pickens Stadium resulted in the death of a woman in 2011.

The school's attorneys contested the lawsuit in a motion to dismiss filed recently in Payne County District Court. In the document the attorneys argued the school is not liable for the woman's death and requested a trial by jury.

The document was filed in response to plaintiff Ronald Mayfield. Mayfield's wife, Charlotte, died after she fell while climbing a set of stairs at the stadium during a high school football game.
