UPDATE at 12:17 p.m.: Police checking inside Stillwater Carmike theater after bomb threat

STILLWATER, Okla. — Responders were inside the Perkins Road Carmike Cinemas theater and the entrances were still blocked off by police and signs at noon Friday in response to reports from employees of a bomb threat.

According to police, a bomb threat was called in to Carmike Cinemas headquarters in Georgia Friday morning targeting unknown theaters nationally.

Stillwater police released a statment saying they were sweeping the theater for bombs with dogs and a bomb technician had been contacted to come to the scene.

Police said the call came in to Stillwater law enforcement agents at 8:30 a.m. Friday. They were still at the theater, with roads blocked, after noon.
