STILLWATER, Okla. —
The Western Payne County Ambulance Trust Authority Board approved a contract Wednesday to start serving portions of Noble County.
The contract service agreement covers an area adjoining Payne County, Stillwater Medical Center CEO Jerry Moeller said.
According to the contract, the terms of the agreement are from Oct. 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
Noble County will pay a proportionate share of all funds from a county sales tax of 1/4 of 1 percent, according to the contract. The share is listed as 16.42 percent.
Moeller said the county will pay approximately $40,000 a year for the service.
The ambulance board also approved a new medical director for LifeNet. Dr. Patrick Cody was unanimously approved by the board.
Cody said his goals are for progressive education and to increase standards of quality at LifeNet.
LifeNet took over ambulance service from the city of Stillwater’s Fire Department in 2011.
LifeNet Operations Manager Kelly McCauley said Cody would start officially by the end of the month, but he has been working with the company already.
“He has experience and passion for doing EMS Medical Service,” McCauley said.
