STILLWATER, Okla. —
Stillwater Regional Airport is a step closer to having another hangar.
The Stillwater Regional Airport Authority board unanimously approved an agreement with LBR Inc. of Stillwater for site development and space planning at Thursday's meeting at the aIrport.
Airport Director Gary Johnson said the agreement is not to exceed $5,000. The engineering services will be billed hourly, Johnson said.
The $5,000 for engineering services would provide a drawing for the specific location of the hangar, he said.
According to the Johnson’s report to the airport authority, specific funding sources have not been identified for the hangar’s construction.
Johnson said he has put in the budget request to the city of Stillwater.
“Like everyone else’s the requests are going in the hopper,” Johnson said.
Johnson said the hangar would house approximately 10 airplanes and bring the airport more revenue.
“I think it’s critical to us to keep moving forward on T-hangar space,” Johnson said. “It’s been before 1980 since we’ve built one,” Johnson said.
